A Taste of Italy: An A+ Review of Da Vinci's

Ambiance
Da Vinci's pulls off a very authentic ambiance. The dimly lit dining area and soft Italian Instrumental music in the background give the place a very Italian feel. Because I showed up a little early for the lunch rush, there weren't many people at the restaurant, but the few that were there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The stucco paint and dark carpet colors are a very nice touch also. The people at Da Vinci's know how to set up a great ambiance.

Cleanliness
The restaurant was a very clean place to eat. There are mats in the entrance foyer to wipe your feet off before you enter. The staff regularly cleans the whole restaurant. I noticed some staff vacuuming the unoccupied areas of the restaurant. This shows me some dedication to keep the restaurant dirt-free. Both the table and the booth seats where I was sitting were very clean.While people expect their dining areas to be clean, they often don’t consider that the staff has to clean the entire place every closing and opening of the restaurant. Overall the place was very clean.

Quality of Food
I ordered a calzone at Da Vinci's. Considering how I have never had a calzone before, I was excited at tasting this new food. The waitress brought out the calzone ten minutes after I ordered it. It looks kind of like a dark brown hot pocket. I sincerely hoped it would not taste like a hot pocket. Luckily for me, it was actually a delicious meal. The sauce inside oozed out when I cut the calzone open. The cheese in the calzone was strong and had a smoky flavor. The sauce was a perfect complement to this. The pepperoni tasted very smoky as well with the mushrooms inside the warm calzone. I loved that calzone, but I was not full so i ordered a lemon cello cake slice. This is another dish I have never tasted before, it was my hope that it turned out as well as the calzone. It did indeed. Lemon cello cake is a moist, chilled cake. The lemon flavor is very prevalent, so some might not like it, but I do. The creamy icing on the cake went very well with it. The food I had at Da Vinci's was amazing and I can't wait to go again.

Presentation
While the presentation was good, there was nothing fantastic about it. The waiters and waitresses were dressed in a simple white dress shirt with black dress pants. Our food was brought out on a stand carrying a tray with several plates on it. My calzone came with a parsley leaf, which I think is supposed to be fancy. The napkins surrounding my silverware seemed more like a thick cloth than a napkin and the glass that my drink was in felt like an actual glass, not plastic. Da Vinci's did spend extra money to satisfy the customer with the cloth and the glasses, but there was nothing special about it.

Service
The primary concern of any restaurant, next to health regulations, should be the service they provide their customers. Da Vinci's service was great. All the servers and other staff that I talked to were very friendly and helpful. My server frequently checked back on me to make sure everything was okay. When I ordered the calzone my waitress said "That's a very good choice". I got refills almost immediately. Everyone had a friendly smile, and they seemed genuinely friendly, so these people are either ridiculously nice or good fakers. The service at Da Vinci's does not disappoint.

All in all, I had a great dining experience at Da Vinci's. If you are looking for a place to eat that has great food and likewise service, then come to Da Vinci's. Their prices are great, so if you are a poor college student like me, you'll like that quality. It is a very cleanly place and it seems like the staff actually care if you have a good time. I recommend to all who read this blog, go to Da Vinci's and experience it for yourself.
