Tampicos is an Excellent Place to Eat: Authentic Food and Great Service

Service:

The service at Tampicos was very good. The Mexican waiters were polite and easy to talk to. The waiter was good at checking back to see how the food was and refilling drinks. After ordering my food, it was only ten minutes before they had it prepared. They have very fast service there. Along with the fast service is the cheap prices. Most of the items on the menu were under ten dollars and the portion service of the meals are very large.

Cleanliness:

Tampicos has a very clean atmosphere. When I was taken to my table, I could tell that the table was well washed along with the chairs. The table had no sign of the previous people that sat there. As I sat at the table, I noticed one of the workers cleaning the table near by. After seeing the way the table was clean and prepared for the next peopl to sit there, it made me confident that the table I was sitting at was cleaned and prepared the same way.

Quality Of Food:

The quality of food they serve at Tampicos is excellent. I ordered the burrito Tampico. From the minute they brought it out, I could not wait to eat it. From the appearance, I could tell the food was fresh and well prepared. On a large, red plate laid a burrito topped with melted cheese, lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and sour cream. On the side was the Mexican rice. I could smell the spicy peppers in the burrito and the Mexican rice. As I took the first bite, my appetite was satisfied.

Presentation:

The appearance of the restaurant is well designed. On outside of the restaurant, it has a large mural above the entrance. The mural is well painted and colorful. In the mural, it shows the beach and a tropical landscape. The appearance on the inside of the restaurant is very colorful. The chairs and parts of the walls are painted in bright colors such as purple and green. On the walls are murals similiar to the one on the outside. The lights in the restaurant were dim, but I was still able to read the menu and eat my food just fine.

Ambiance:

On a Friday night, Tampicos is packed. The restaurant seemed to be very popular since every table in the restaurant was taken. The noise level there was very loud. Between the noise from everyone talking, the music, and the television, it was too much.

Overall:

The overall experience at Tampicos was good. The food and the fast service was great. Besides the overwhelming atmosphere, I plan on returning to Tampicos. However when I return, I will try to avoid nights when I expect it to be crowded.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5.

  1. I absolutely love Mexican food, but I have never been to Tsmpico's. I've been to many Mexican restaurants before, and have had a lot of positive experiences. With the great review, I will definitely make an effort to go sometime.

  2. I agree, the waiters there are very polite, and the service was incredibaly fast when I was there. I also agree that it is a very clean place to eat however the bathrooms could use some work done. The quality of the food really impressed me, I usually do not like a lot of Mexican food but I loved the food I tried when I visited this resturant. I do not like to go to Tampicos however when it is packed because the service tends to be very slow.
