My Dining Experience : Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse Parkersburg, WV

Ambiance:

Texas Roadhouse has an appreciative ambiance for its theme. The first thing I noticed before I walked into the restaurant was the large line of people waiting to be seated. Their were people everywhere, it was overly crowded. When walking into the restaurant, again, I saw an abundance of people waiting to be seated, I couldn't hear the country music at all because of the large amount of noise. I smelt the fresh rolls, and the saltiness of the peanuts setting in the large barrels by the entrance. As I was getting lead to my seat, the isles were so small that it was difficult for waiters and waitresses to squeeze through while I was in the isle as they were carrying large quantities of food. Once I got seated in the back of the restaurant, I noticed that it wasn't as well decorated as the rest of the restaurant was. The walls looked like pine, also. I saw a few cacti, and some woven blankets hanging on the walls, but again, it wasn't enough decor as their was in the front.

Score: 3 out of 5 stars

Cleanliness:

As I looked down to the floor, their were peanut shells. Everywhere. Their were also a lot of straw wrappers on the floor. My booth also had peanut shells on it. The ketchup bottle had crusty ketchup coming out of the top, and their were still crumbs on the table from the previous customers. Each of the plates had still been wet from being washed, I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Score: 1 out of 5 stars

Quality of Food:

The pulled pork sandwich looked as if it had an abundance of pulled pork slapped on in between two well toasted, crunchy buns. The pulled pork was dry, and had no taste at all, but the buns were crunchy and salty enough to make up for half of the flavor being lost. The fries looked well seasoned and salted, just the way I like them. They tasted delicious for my liking. The choice of my dinner was half exceptional.

Score: 4 out of 5 stars

Service:

The greeters at the door didn't even acknowledge that I was standing right in front of them, they didn't say anything to me until I asked for a table. The woman who led me to my table was quiet, and I could hardly hear ask the questions as they normally do when they guide me to my table. As soon as my waiter came to my table, he was very loud and funny, sort of excited. He checked up periodically, even though they were busy. He also didn't give me one refill. It looked as if he only gave refills to customers who had tea and water. When it was time for him to give me my bill, he got it to me quickly, but then it felt as if he forgot about me. So i had to wait there for a long while him to bring back my change. As I was walking out of the restaurant, the greeters didn't even make an attempt to say 'Have a good night!' or, 'Thanks for coming, come back soon!', they didn't say anything.

Score: 3 out of 5 stars

Presentation:

The food was presented in a deliciously, old fashioned country manner. I'm not used to anything fancy-like, so the way of the food being presented was a well suited way to make me enjoy it.

Score: 5 out of 5 stars

Total Score: 3.5 stars

Texas Roadhouse is generally an acceptable restaurant to dine at but, I would not recommend it to be eaten at during the weekends when everyone is trying to eat there at the same time that you are.

  1. I agree. Texas Roadhouse does have very good food, but I hate the peanut shells on the floor - it just seems so dirty to me. I also hate that it's always packed with people, and that you're rarely acknowledged by anyone except your server.
